Charis Tree is an approved Family Day Care service, registered with South West Child Care scheme. We are located in Truganina, catering for children from 2.5 years to 5 years.

At Charis Tree, children have the opportunity to explore, learn and play in a happy and safe environment. The program is based on children’s needs and interests which fosters all areas of development for example social interaction, outdoor play, thinking skills as well as receptive and expressive language. Routine activities are set.

Our teaching philosophy draws inspiration from Maria Montessori, also using a combination of different teaching and learning strategies to guide children to be successful and independent learners.

Also at Charis Tree, only  a maximum of 4 under school aged children are in care at any one time. This allows children to have individual attention throughout the day. Opportunities to interact in small groups and the ability to experience real life experiences.

After School Care will be available upon request at a later time.

In order for your child to attend Charis Tree, your child must first be registered and enrolled with South West Child Care scheme. This must be completed prior to attending care with Charis Tree. A one off registration fee of $15 is payable to South West.

A 48 hours processing time is required between submission of registration documentation to starting your child at our centre.

Christian Element

The word "Charis" is taken from the Greek word that means Grace. Charis Tree would come to mean the Grace of God overflowing from this tree into the community.

`That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.”Psalm 1:3 NIV

At Charis Tree, we maintain the important Christian element central to their teaching. Each child is a physical, cognitive, and spiritual being. The spiritual development of each child is encouraged in a loving, caring, and nurturing manner aimed at the age of the child.

The centre encourages Christian teaching and values through prayer before meals, bible stories and songs, and staff respond to children’s questions through a Christian and biblical based context.

We also have a weekly ‘church time’ (Similar to Sunday school) whereby the children have a special time where they share in a bible story, sing Christian songs, and say a prayer.
